Beyond the Classroom

Beyond Academics

The wonderful English poet Wordsworth, who adored nature and wrote a poem entitled “The Tables Turned,” starts the poem with the words, “Up! up! my Friend, and quit your books.” He doesn’t ask us to throw away the books; instead, he continues by explaining that kids should emerge from the world of science and arts found in those books. They should step out to learn about life from the world, from the nature around them. At Prodigy, we believe in the importance of children learning about life from everything around them. Here is a list of a few programs through which we nourish young minds, guiding them away from books. As Wordsworth says, “She (nature) has a world of ready wealth, Our minds and hearts to bless— Spontaneous wisdom breathed by health, Truth breathed by cheerfulness.” We open our kids’ minds to engage with the world around them and gain wisdom through meaningful activities, outdoor visits, and practices.

Field Trip

At Prodigy, we offer many field trips for our children. The primary-level children will be taken on one field trip a year, while the elementary-level children will enjoy several field trips to enhance their contextual learning. These experiences will help them develop various perspectives when approaching different situations. The ability to engage in critical thinking will be fostered in students through such trips. This, in turn, will enable them to analyze, interpret, evaluate, and make judgments about what they read, hear, say, or write.

Dance

Dance

Dance is a fun activity that helps children develop better coordination, agility, and flexibility. At Prodigy, we have a professional coach to conduct dance classes for kids, which will improve their team spirit and social skills. Above all, they will learn to express themselves clearly by enhancing their dance skills.

Arts and Crafts

Arts and Crafts

Learning arts and crafts at a very young age is crucial for children as it improves visual learning and memory. Through these activities, they will learn to cope with their feelings, bringing cognitive and psychological benefits for the kids. Our vocational teacher will help the kids cherish learning in the arts and craft class.

Colour Day

Colour Day

At Prodigy, we celebrate Colour Day. Children and teachers will wear outfits of the same colour on that day, and the school campus will be decorated accordingly. This will create a sense of oneness in the minds of the young children, as they learn to embrace and enjoy the norm on campus.

National Festivals

National Festivals

National and religious festivals are celebrated at our campus. We give importance to this as it helps create a sense of community. Through these celebrations, children will learn the biggest lesson: “unity in diversity,” which is a core value of our Indian nation.

Yoga

Yoga

We at Prodigy offer Yoga classes to children. In today’s modern world, there are too many distractions for children in the form of advanced technology. However, exercise is essential for their physical wellness and growth. To emphasize this, we provide yoga classes on campus as it offers benefits such as improving blood flow, body flexibility, and strength.

Sharing Day

Sharing Day

Sharing is an essential thing that a child needs to learn as it is the first step towards empathy. This act of sharing helps the child understand the importance of giving and gradually learn to extend help to those in need. It allows the child to disown selfish intentions and embrace selflessness. Sharing day also brings joy to them. When we encourage sharing in kids, we are moulding them into empathetic individuals.

Annual Day

Annual Day

At Prodigy, our annual days are very special to us. We celebrate the achievements of our children during our annual day event. The Prodigy family, including teachers, children, and parents, gathers together to celebrate this joyful day. We conclude the day with a feast. Through their wonderful performances, we showcase the talents of our children on stage. We also provide training to help them overcome their stage fear. We take pride in seeing our confident children perform on stage during our special annual day celebration.

Sports

Sports

“I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” – Michael Jordan. In the above quote, Michael Jordan talks not only about success but also about failure. He was one of the best sportsmen who clearly explains the important lesson that sports can teach – that success and failure are part of our lives. Amidst it all, we should have a sense of healthy competition. At Prodigy, we engage our children in various sports such as archery, football, cricket, badminton, and basketball. We have two different teams: Roaring Lions and Screaming Eagles. Through healthy competitions, they learn to be sportive. Our children, through sports, learn about brotherhood, sisterhood, and team spirit.
